- **************************** VIEW DOCUMENTATION *******************************
-
- 1. WHAT IS VIEW
- ---------------
- VIEW allows you to display on any VGA card .HS2 posters created by every
- POSTERING release (POSTERING is a program for Handy Scanner 2000, also by
- dgs). VGA resolutions supported by VIEW are:
-
- a) 640x350 : EGA o VGA
- b) 640x480 : VGA
- c) 704x528 : Tweaked VGA (not standard)
- d) 720x540 : Tweaked VGA (not standard)
- e) 736x552 : Tweaked VGA (not standard)
- f) 752x564 : Tweaked VGA (not standard)
- g) 768x576 : Tweaked VGA (not standard)
- h) 784x588 : Tweaked VGA (not standard)
- i) 800x600 : Tweaked VGA (not standard)
-
- You can choose resolutions by pressing F4. If you don't have a MULTISYNC
- monitor, maybe you cannot see resolutions c) to i): but, if you have an
- horizontal phaser on your monitor, try to move it. If you cannot adjust
- image synchronism on your screen, you cannot use the selected resolution
- on your monitor.
-
- 2. GRAPHICS FORMATS SUPPORTED
- -----------------------------
- HS2 Images can be stored on disk in two formats:
- a) raw image : it has .HS2 extension, and it's stored as raw bitmap. Its
- size is 105*[sy+1], where <sy> is image's height (in pixels).
- b) compressed: more than one image are compressed in a file. Algorythm used
- for compression is PKZIP's SHRINK. You can use PKZIP to compress your
- images, but archives must have .HSZ extension in order to be recognized
- by VIEW. Also, you must use PKZIP -es option in order to use Shrink
- compression method only. By using image archives allows you to save more
- space, but image loading will be much slower.
-
- 3. USING VIEW
- -------------
- VIEW is easy to use: a file-requester allows you to select a raw bitmap or
- a compressed archive from any directory of your hard disk, or from a floppy
- disk. You can go up in a directory tree by selecting "..". You can use
- following keys also:
-
- <ENTER> : selects the file. If it's an image, it will be displayed, if it's
- an archive, you can select one of the images compressed in it. Nothing appens
- if you select a file with another extension.
- <Tab> : allows you to type file name directly from keyboard.
- <F4> : changes VGA resolution, see 1
- <F5> : displays again last image loaded in memory.
- <ESC> : come back to dos.
-
- When you're displaying the images, you can press <B> to change background
- color (16 colors resolution). You can come back to filerequester by pressing
- <ESC>.
-
